OUR CAUSES

GiveWell identifies charities that can save or improve lives the most per dollar, ensuring that every dollar donated has maximum impact. They spend over 40,000 hours annually to produce the world's top research on where to give.

There are millions of registered nonprofits, but GiveWell only ever recommends a very small number (four at the last count). This means our athletes can be sure that their giving will do an incredible amount of good and make a real difference in the world.

The Life You Can Save was founded by Peter Singer, widely recognized as one of the world's most influential contemporary philosophers. They make "smart giving simple" by curating a group of nonprofits that save or improve the most lives per dollar.

Their aim is to create a world where everyone has an opportunity to build a better life and where there's no suffering or death due to extreme poverty.

Founders Pledge are committed not to simply do good, but to do as much good as they possibly can. Research shows that the very best giving opportunities are orders of magnitude better at producing results and that there are meaningful differences in outcomes even between good, evidence-led organizations.
