Against Malaria Foundation
Safeguarding Kwango from Malaria
AMF is set to transform the nights in Kwango province, Congo, and six provinces in Zambia. With the distribution of 7.9 million more malaria nets, they're turning fear-filled nights into peaceful slumbers for entire regions of people. These nets will not only safeguard against deadly bites but are expected to prevent thousands of deaths and millions of malaria cases. Each net distributed weaves a stronger safety net of health, prosperity, and hope - all made possible by the generosity of donors worldwide.
Hellen Keller International
Empowering women and nourishing communities.
At the heart of HKI’s mission lies the empowerment of women, who often serve as the pillars of families and communities. In regions of Africa and Asia, where Vitamin A deficiency is rampant, HKI is equipping local women to be healthcare leaders, delivering life-saving Vitamin A doses to children under five. In Kenya, where only 20% of young children were receiving enough vitamin A, HKI's training has led to over 80% now being protected. Through agricultural education, women are also being taught to grow Vitamin A-rich crops, spreading knowledge and nourishment in their communities. This blend of healthcare and education led by woman, is a movement towards sustainable change, resilience, and a brighter future for entire generations.
Evidence Action’s Safe Water
Waters of hope: overcoming disease and disaster
In the face of the Ebola outbreak, Cyclone Freddy, and fuel scarcity, Evidence Action's Dispensers for Safe Water program has achieved an extraordinary feat in Uganda and Malawi. Installing 24,000 new chlorine dispensers, even amid a challenging environment, the organization now provides access to safe water for 9.8 million people. Uganda's Country Director, Richard Kibuuka, recalls the obstacles and how the team's determination and innovative planning ensured optimal expansion targets were met. As a result they were recognized as the Best Innovative Civil Society Organisation in the WASH (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene) Sector in Malawi.
Give Directly
Digital aid: quick cash for flood survivors in Nigeria
In the face of the worst floods in a decade in Kogi, Nigeria, GiveDirectly, in partnership with Google.org, transformed disaster response by sending digital cash transfers directly to survivors. Through extensive community interviews they tailored their approach to local needs, hiring staff fluent in the local dialect - Egbura Koto, and promoting mobile money usage. This innovative approach bypassed bureaucratic delays, offering a rapid, empathetic, and empowering solution to those affected by a devastating natural disaster.
New Incentives
Transforming lives through vaccinations in Northern Nigeria
In the state of Zamfara, where childhood vaccination rates are among the lowest in the world, New Incentives are inspiring real change. By conducting more than 2,500 community awareness meetings in May alone, they are not only educating but also dispelling dangerous myths about vaccinations. With the goal of enrolling nine million infants in their evidence-based program by 2026, they are addressing cultural barriers, connecting with local leaders, and providing cash incentives. This grassroots movement, tailored to the community's needs and beliefs, is helping to turn the tide against deadly diseases like measles and working towards a healthier future for the region's children.
Sanku: Project Healthy Children
Scaling impact across borders: A tale of innovation and efficiency in Kenya and Tanzania
Sanku's operations in Kenya and Tanzania are setting new benchmarks in combating malnutrition through technological and logistical prowess. In Kenya, their deployment of 71 dosifiers - pumps that add precise amounts of essential nutrients into flour, have now reached over a million people with fortified food. Meanwhile in Tanzania, they’re not just scaling, but optimizing, with distribution centers that expedite supply chains and a call center that now fields nearly 2,000 calls monthly to bolster miller support. These strategic moves have Sanku on track to nourish two million Kenyans by year's end and have already impacted five million lives in Tanzania.

The Malaria Consortium
Eliminating Malaria in Cambodia
Cambodia is on a steadfast mission to eradicate malaria by 2025, having already made significant strides in reducing the disease. However, remote populations, including forest goers and migrant groups, are still disproportionately affected due to limited healthcare access. Addressing this, the Malaria Consortium is partnering with Cambodian health authorities on the RAI3E project, an initiative focusing on community and health system resilience. This involves deploying mobile malaria workers to facilitate better disease understanding and healthcare accessibility in isolated communities, helping Cambodia to move closer to its ambitious goal of eliminating P. falciparum malaria by 2023 and P. vivax malaria by 2025.

Superhot Rock Energy: Unearthing the Geothermal Giant
CATF is diving deep into the layers of our planet to find an alternative to fossil fuels. Superhot rock geothermal energy is a visionary energy source, and yet almost entirely unrecognized in the decarbonization debate. Technological innovation will allow us to access this energy, which has the potential to meet long-term demands for zero-carbon, always-on power, and can generate hydrogen for transportation fuel. Accessing this energy could significantly shift our approach to renewables, offering a potent, sustainable solution right beneath our feet.
