What We Achieved In One Month

I wanted to share the incredible impact that High Impact Athletes made in its first month of existence.

High Impact Athletes influenced more than $81,300 USD in donations, with more than $56,800 going to Environmental Impact and more than $24,500 going to Extreme Poverty.
These donations are estimated to do the following and more:

• Protect more than 10,700 people from malaria

• Deworm more than 4,220 children

• Protect more than 2,368 children from preventable blindness

• Save more than 443,800 animals from factory farms (a very conservative estimate)

• Eliminate around 19,573,000 KGs of CO2e from the atmosphere

Those numbers are truly astonishing. It’s easy to look at a figure in the thousands and forget that each one of those numbers is a living, breathing, feeling being.

Even more, this was achieved on the thinnest shoestring budget, meaning that High Impact Athletes’ donations outweighed expenses by 161 to 1.
I am hoping to grow High Impact Athletes in the coming months, which will incur some staffing costs, so I can’t expect the same ratio in 2021. But my goal will always be to influence the maximum amount of donations for minimal expenses.

Remember, you don’t have to be an athlete to donate through HIA! What really matters is that these incredible charities get the funding they need so they can continue to change thousands or millions of lives each year.
